    The Official Guild List

Post by Ami~ on Wed Mar 02, 2016 11:50 pm

Here at Fairy Tail Haven we decided to do something different from most other sites. We allow you to create your own guilds. Rather than starting off with a few solicited guilds we decided to let you all make your own guilds. It can be custom or maybe even bringing in a canon guild. However we do require a 2 light, 2 dark and 1 neutral guild set up since it wouldn't be fun if everyone was a light guild member would it? Remember, first come first serves~

EDIT: After a situation popped up we will be adding in a new rule. Once you make the guild you cannot change any aspects of it (This includes guild name, color code, tattoo or location). If you do wish for a rename or aspect change you will have to pay in the shop.

    Guild Name: Cait Shelter

    Alignment: Light Guild

    Location: Clover Town

    Guild Color Code: #ffcc00

    RP Sample:
    Spoiler:
A member of The Magic Council was reading a report, of a Very Small Legal guild that appeared in the Town of Clover known as Cait Shelter. On the Report it read that Cait Shelter is a small light guild with barley any Wizard members it could be hard to even call it a Guild with how little Wizards there are in Cait Shelter. The Cait Shelter Guild also is said to have a walled off section in the city of Clover they also seem to have a bunch of pets, anything from normal Cats to Dogs to Tigers Lions's and Bears they treat animals like their allies and equals. Some members of Cait shelter are also very good at sewing, it even seems people who can't even use magic can join the Guild as member who does other things to make the Guild money. Cait Shelter seems like more of small community of Civilians Animals and Wizards that have no other place to go join the Cait Shelter Guild. "Cait Shelter is insane if they think they can have a small walled off community inside of Clover Town, but they went through all the proper motions and are Considered a Legal Guild so there is nothing we can do they are just gating off the guild grounds so innocent people can't get hurt" The Magic Council member sighed and started to write a New Report. There was no choice but to accept Cait Shelter as a Legal Guild they became a Legal Guild through all the Proper Channels unlike a lot of other legal Guilds that have been around for longer and are a lot bigger. The Main Problem was allowing Civilians join a Wizards Guild but their were other Guild that allowed Civilians to work at their Guildhall's bar so there really was no Problem and one of the other Magic Council Members was overreacting like usual. The Member of the Magic Council now had to explain to the Others why the Cait Shelter Guild is still allowed to be around despite having a walled of section to keep non Wizards safe. "Men Get in here now and deliver this report to the other Magic Council members"! The Member of the Magic Council Sighed as he got ready he had just explained in that report that took hours to write to basically allow one small and insignificant Legal Guild to remain in Clover Town. The Magic Council member smiled until he noticed he still had a stack of Complaints about several other Legal Guilds that have been causing troubles and Slammed his palm against his face. The Magic Council member sighed he would just have to do those tomorrow at least he knew one Small Legal Guild is safe from being disbanded and it's name is Cait Shelter. Meanwhile at Cait Shelter Guild they were having a party animal Civilians without magic and Wizards living together in peace that is what Cait Shelter is about taking those in who have no were else to go living in harmony and maybe taking Jobs every now and then.

    Guild Name: Starlit Spider

    Guild Color Code: #b366ff
    RP Sample:
    Spoiler:
"WHEN DARKNESS BLANKETS THE HEARTS OF MEN THE STARLIT SPIDER DESCENDS FROM IT'S COSMIC WEB"

These were the words painted upon the side of Era City's Magic Council's building shimmering in blood red paint that refused to come off by non magical means. A black spider was painted neatly below it glowing eerily to further the disturbing image. Suffice to say the Rune Knights were trying their hardest to not only disperse a nosy crowd, but also remove the words of an obvious terrorist attack by an unknown guild.

It baffled them on just how someone managed to paint this on such an important building since even at night the security was tight around the building. And while the knights were in a tizzy about the graffiti - the council themselves were worried about what the painted words meant.

"It seems were have another Dark Guild on our hands..." Grimaced one of the councilmen. "Unfortunately... but it was bound to happen... it was just a matter of "when"." Came another councilman. "What do we do? They did not attack anyone - it seems they just wished to issue a warning of some kind." Asked another one. "More...like a statement...."

The room fell into grim silence at the realization that someone would be so bold or reckless to deface such an important building with a such a large slew of Rune Knights in and without the borders of the city. "This "guild" is a threat regardless, if they could slip into the city so easily - what stopped them from doing so again? Only the next time to cause harm to someone?"

The heavy realization weighed down on the men and women of the magic council as they finally decided on their course of action. "Then it is decided... this Starlit Spider shall be marked as an illegal "Dark Guild" with any signs of the members are to be captured alive on sight."

After signing an official document the guild would be labeled as a threat to Fiore. Unbeknownst to the men and women of the mage council - amongst the slowly dispersing crowds stood a young man with darkly tanned skin and starlight silver hair, the fringe obscuring his eyes as a smirk laid on his lips. "Scurry and struggle little flies... For when the Spider descends ... all shall be trapped in it's web..."

With that whispered on a quiet breath the strange youth made his way through the crowds and outside of Era altogether. This was merely a prelude to the beginning... Though small and seemingly inconsequential the message may seem - in time the Starlit Spider would do greater and grander schemes which would send ripples throughout all of Fiore.

And in the end, when they gained control of every inch of the underbelly of society it would be too late for the "light" to do a thing about. They didn't realize it yet- but they were already caught up in their subtly weaved web... And when they did... well ... "They will soon realized that they were at the mercy of a very, hungry spider..."

Chuckling softly the young mage made his way towards his guild base that was in the process of being built. Soon, he would handpick a certain amount of 'elite' mages who would follow his cause as "harbingers of the Spider" while gaining a sizable "brood" of fellow "lesser" mages who would follow their whims.

And with time, effort, and ambition - the Guild would turn into an empire - where he would rule and usher in a new era... an era where the strong devoured the weak, where those who wanted status would have to earn it on their own rights. A perfect, just, world... The era of the Spider...

    The beginning of a legend:
Rin had just arrived in the magical town of Rose Garden. The young elven woman had come here in search of a place to call home. It had not been easy living on her own, hopping from one inn to the next, while trying to save up money by doing wizard and regular work. And after three whole years, she FINALLY had enough money saved up. Rin walked through the town, taking in the magical sights along the way.

Rin eventually reached the outskirts of the town and stopped in front of a rather large, and old looking castle. Seeing the structure in front of her, covered in ivory plants and seemingly falling apart, Rin couldn't help but feel a very powerful feeling when she looked at it. As she was taking it all in, she heard footsteps approaching her from behind. When she turned around, she found herself facing an elderly looking woman with a soft smile on her tiny wrinkled face. "Hello child, I see you've felt this old castle's heart. Mhm, that's very wonderful to know." The woman seemed to go from talking to Rin, to talking to herself as the woman's gaze shifted from Rin to the ground. Rin didn't quite understand what she meant by 'feeling the castle's heart' but that could wait she figured. It was not long before the woman continued to meet Rin's gaze.

"Dear child, this old crumbling building... used to be home to a wonderful wizard guild... ah, so many fond memories...oh how I'd love to see it a happy and warm place once more before my time on earth is over..." Rin could feel the sadness and pain from the woman in front of her. Maybe, Rin could help make her wish come true, it was definitely worth a shot. "I'll grant your wish for you!" Rin said without any hesitation in her voice and with a bright fire in her eyes. The woman seemed at a loss for words after hearing Rin say she'd grant her wish. "don't worry, I'll make this castle, a wonderful and warm place once more. A place where people can call each other family and fight for honor. I'll make sure you have no regrets!" The woman's smile grew brighter as tears of joy began to stream down her face. "God bless you child, I thank you from the bottom of my heart." Rin smiled at her. One thing was for sure, this was not going to be any easy task.

    Three months later...
With the help of a restoration team made up of wizards, the castle had been restored to its former glory. Rin had spent the majority of the money she saved up on the restoration and all the decor she bought, to make the castle presentable. The woman who Rin had made the promise to, returned that day, only to be overwhelmed and surprised. "Oh my! I can't believe how much it looks like its former self.... thank you child!" Rin smiled happily. "We're not quite there yet, I still have to fill out the paperwork for the guild and submit it to make the guild official. I actually filled out the majority of the paperwork, just stumped on a name for our new home. Any ideas?"

The woman smiled and replied. "Sacred Dragon...that was the name of this wonderful guild...but, you are going to be its guild master my dear, you name it as you wish." Rin thought about it for only a brief moment before she pulled the guild paperwork out of her pocket along with a pen and jotted "Sacred Dragon" down under the guild name field. "That settles it, no name change. This will be a guild known to house those who will become heroes!"

    One month later...
It hadn't been long since Sacred Dragon was officially recognized as a guild, however, it didn't take much time for people in the area to get word of it's existence and go to join. Now, the hall was lively as could be, the old woman's wish came true, thanks to Rin. Now, with her wish granted, the woman could move on, and so she disappeared, never seen again. Rin figured that she had been able to finally move on with her last regret dissolved. Rin stood on top of the bar counter in the hall n front of all her new family members. "Everyone, listen up! I know we have just started this family, but know this, never forget where you came from, or what it is we fear, because those things will make us stronger in both mind and body. They'll allow us to push forward towards tomorrow! Always remember that those who you have formed bonds with, will always be a guiding beacon if you ever loose your way. Always fight for what you hold to be true and don't ever forget yourself. Long live Sacred Dragon!" With Rin's speech over, the whole hall erupted into a roaring cheer with all members putting their fists in the air. Rin knew it was a ways away before she and her new family would get the reputation it deserved, but she was determined to make it happen.

It was a peaceful day in the quiet city of Crocus; the birds were singing, flowers were blooming. Compared to the enormous buildings throughout the rest of Crocus, the guild hall of Pygmy Rabbit was homely and cramped. This wasn't helped by having every wizard in the grand city packed into the tight corridors of this guild hall, all dressed in dark colours. In fact, by the time the ceremony was to start, the room was so cramped they had to move the ceremony outside into the street. Nico Elcombre had been slain by a dark mage the night prior, as he wandered the streets helping those in need. He'd been an extraordinary wizard, one of nearly X-class proportions, and many a mage had come to pay respects to his body before it would be cremated. More interesting, however, was the nomination of a new Guild Master.

Pygmy Rabbit, a guild with considerable influence throughout Fiore, had been led for 16 long years by Elcombre, and his desire to improve the lives of the citizens through the use of magic had drastically improved the living conditions of many lives, magic-users or no. Worry and uncertainty were in the air surrounding the change in leadership, a task shrouded in secrecy. Many a mage gathered in the small hall, staring at the body of Nico Elcombre, as a young woman stepped up to stand over him. Her hair was long and blonde, and her stature was short and slight. Her eyes were a calming blue, and yet she had an authority to her that made every murmur in the hall die down as she stepped up. "Good afternoon. Thank you all for joining me here." She greeted to the silenced hall, a melancholic smile passing over her face. "My name is Arya, and I am the Guild Ace of Pygmy Rabbit. Today, we mourn the passing of Nico Elcombre, a beloved leader and mentor to us all." At this she bowed her head, eyes closing in an act of genuine sorrow. "Many may be wondering how on Earthland he, one of the land's greatest mages, was taken down by a mere Dark Mage." She was clearly adept at public speaking, as she weaved the tale like a narrative from a good tome. "It was a cowardly act on behalf of the dark guilds; they struck at a small child as opposed to our Master, and he defended the child to the death." She finished, her eyes closed. "May he be forever in peace."

After a minute of silence on behalf of the departed, Arya opened her eyes, now filled with determination. "No Guild can be without a Master." She began, her fists clenched as she tried not to cry in front of the crowd. "As the Guild's nominated Ace, it is my duty to take this position. However, if there is anyone who would consider themselves more fit or consider me unfit, they have every right to challenge me." She spoke with such confidence and authority, there was not a murmur from the audience of mages. After a moment, she nodded her head, and turned to one of the guards behind her. "Then as my first act as Guildmaster," She started, grabbing a torch held out to her. "We commend this soul to the deep." With that, she lit the sheet covering the body of her former Master, and this time she couldn't stop the tears from rolling down her face. As the body of her former mentor burned in a blaze in front of her, Arya couldn't help but smile. She could feel his spirit embracing the night and disappearing, released from the limitations of his mortal body. "May he rest in peace." She repeated, closing her eyes once more.

“...And as the clock struck four, the third was no more. The child watched her cousin fall and ran to his side. She listened to his final words, ‘Listen, young rabbit, and you’ll lead to greatness.’ And as the light faded from his eyes, a single tear strolled down her cheek - alone before she stood. Fist balled up, she was determined. She would prevail…”

Salty sea air filled the lungs of all passengers. The boat swayed, back and forth as it cut through the water below. On board, a number of people - primarily crew members - kept the deck tidy and sailing as smooth as they could with winds rolling in. Dark clouds could be seen making their way closer, accompanied by the occasional boom of thunder. Below the deck, a few passengers walked back and forth between rooms. Around this time, they were just getting a light snack as they’d be docking soon for the night. They’d get dinner afterwards.

However, unknown to the rest of the ship, a small girl sat stowing away under the stairs, a simple book in hand to entertain her time. Her hair all roughed up from a long ride and dust clinging to her clothes from sitting there for the past few hours, she closed the pages and peered out to watch a mother and her young child walk towards the stairs, beginning to climb up. She scowled, slightly jealous of the two; and while the mother never saw her, she was clearly caught by the little boy. His dull green gaze meeting her violet, they made steady eye contact for a good second or two before he vanished up to the deck. In that time, she put her finger up to her lips and a small - fake - smile to give off a mischievous play. He seemed to understand what she wanted him to as he smiled back.

As the ship slowed and movement stopped a few minutes later, the girl beneath the stairs waited for everyone else to pile out. The last set of footsteps disappeared from the deck above, signalling that it was her time to move. Rising from her position there, she stepped out and went up to the deck, stretching her limbs and continuing down to the docks. She followed her feet, walking among the shadows until she arrived at the edge of the trees bordering the small docking area. There she stopped and leaned against one of the trunks. And she waited.

She, Alice, was there, on Galuna Island, to meet a group of people she had seen time and time again. She had assisted them on a number of missions as a battle pawn, though they were just a ragtag group looking to achieve different things. Usually they worked together when it would further their own goals. Tonight, however, that would change. There were plans in the works, plans that Alice would delight in. One-by-one, six others showed up, different each in their own ways. Alice begun the meeting.

Greetings, children, a rather odd way of starting the meeting. However, as she was older than almost all of them, she was rather fond of greeting them in such a way. You all know why we’re here right?

“Duh, we’re here to start an actual team instead of ragtag feel-like-it’s,” one replied. Her tone was not happy at being called a child. “Can we get on with this?”

Watch your tone, please, Alice glared at the taller, more matured lady before returning her attention back to the meeting. First order of business: We need a name…

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s come to our attention that Caduceus Scale cannot go on for even a week without having a guildmaster. On a stage in a building on the island of Galuna, a girl spoke into a microphone. Her hands shook slightly, forcing her gaze to remain upon the crowd. Her shoulder stung a bit, wanting her to turn and take a look in the closed casket behind her before it was to be disposed of. Dark brown hair down beneath her knees, she was one of the original group of seven. The starting team. And yet, three of the others had already died leading the guild. The rest either stayed or left, depending on their personal decisions. She was slightly nervous - not about leading, but about dying. The main reason the others were gone were medical problems combined with having to deal with light mages. While she hadn’t aged even a week since the guild’s creation - before that even. She didn’t have to fret about medical problems, but the fear was still there.

As such, I - being the current guild ace - have to step up. It is so, in great regret, that I finally take the leading role as those have before me, she stated, her violet eyes meeting the faces of the saddened ones. And though life leads to death, we’ll one day break this chain. In honor of Grayson Maraude, I, Alice Labelle, will take the responsibility of furthering the goals of the guild. She turned, allowing full view of the casket behind her as she gestured towards it. Now, to allow his soul eternal freedom, we take his corpse away.

As two other guild members lifted and carried the casket away, Alice returned to directly facing the crowd. Thank you for joining me and allowing me to lead this guild. I will take us places. We will go far, that I promise, she bowed, setting the microphone in its stand and walking off. Upon disappearing down the stairs of the stage and down to the hall leading to the guild’s rooms, she began to think of how they’d dispose of his body - setting it on a small raft and setting it into the water. They’d burn the raft as it floated atop the water, the corpse turning to ashes with it. Returning her thoughts to reality, she raised her hand to the where she felt something damp rolling down her right cheek. There, having fallen from her right eye, was a single salty tear.

Extra Comments: May/May not be entirely character cannon. Most aspects I plan on keeping, though small details - such as the amount of mages in the original team or causes of death - are susceptible to change based upon full character reveal or writing of the guild lore.

    The Story:
Rai was a slave for much of his childhood life. However the way he was released was very abnormal, as apparently a nearby guild heard of the child enslavement camp and came to rescue all the slaves that were there. During the rescue Rai caught a glimpse of one of the mages guild mark and it appeared to be some sort of star with a sword behind it. The guild peaked his interest to say the least, however the true fact of reality was Rai slowly became obsessed with the people who saved him. He felt like he owed them a debt that he could not repay and so he tracked down this guild to their base of operations and asked could he join them.
At first he wasn’t allowed to join because they saw him as a sort of liability being unable to use magic, however they allowed him to join after they showed him how to work a simple computer and within minutes could use it much more effectively than the man who taught him. He was never allowed to go on jobs and missions as he had no magic, he would instead watch and observe and sometimes even run the operations from the base. After about a few years Rai thought it was time to learn magic so that he could better repay the debt he thought he still owed to them. However he was only really good at one thing and that was using computers and other technology. Luckily for him there was a mage in the guild well versed in the use of archive magic, a magic based around technology.
Rai within a few months took this magic to the next level and dubbed the newly created magic Digital Archive Invaders, named after a video game he would commonly play when he was bored with nothing to do. The guildmaster saw how Rai was advancing within the few short years he was in the guild, and decided to make him his apprentice with the intentions of one day passing the guild over to him. He would teach Rai how to fight, how to survive, and even began to try to teach him to lead a guild. Although he knew such a thing could not truly be teached, only mentored over years.
One day the whole guild went out on a mission into a cave at the base of Mt. Hakobe where a crew of bandits was hiding out. The guild had one intent to eliminate them so that any and every one could have safe passage on the roads. However the mission was compromised as the bandits knew they were coming due to a turncoat amongst the guilds ranks. Everyone in the guild was slaughtered one after another due to a well-planned out ambush on the bandits’ part. As the guild master fell he began to tell Rai one thing and that was to run, and so Rai ran as fast as he could making it back to the safety of the guildhall. He cried and cried for hours at how useless and weak he was but he promised himself that he would do two things. One was to rebuild the guild and make it better than it had ever been, and the second was to get stronger so he would never have to watch people he cared about die again.

Ryoshi sighed as he stood over the corpses of his most recent victims, blood dripping off the end of his knife. "More victims of fate. Sadly, more must fall for the path of righteousness to continue. More must die for justice to further it's course." he said as he wiped his blade on a cloth, then sheathed it at his back. With a word, he extended his hand and black flames consumed the bodies. In moments, all that was left of the corpses was ash floating in the faint breeze flowing through the open windows of the ramshackle hut. A second later, the flames licked against the wooden floorboards. Sighing again, Ryoshi exited the shack as the walls began burn with ebony flames. As he strode down the side of the hill, a stronger breeze blew away the remains of the house. As he continued forward, he muttered something under his breath that sounded like a chant or a prayer.
"In the days of unrighteousness, few will step forward to walk the path of justice. Those who will shall band together in their search for truth and form a guild. And it's name shall be Dragon's Curse." This he repeated six times as he walked nonchalantly down the hill.
A month later, Ryoshi stood more or less in the center of the wasteland known as Hell's Valley, clouds of toxic gas roiling around him. Chanting, he raised his right hand in the air, left hand holding a rag to his nose. As he finished his chant, a ball of black flames erupted from his upraised hand. It exploded outwards, igniting every particle of the gas that covered the area. In moments, every cloud of gas had burned away, leaving only a desert behind. Dropping the rag, Ryoshi carefully lowered his hand, onyx flames still smoldering in his palm. Then, with sudden movements, he tore his shirt away from his chest and slammed his flaming hand against his left pectoral. With a grimace, Ryoshi continued to brand himself.
"And it's name... shall be.. Draco Maledicte!" he roared as he lifted his hand. Circling his muscle was now the shape of a snake biting its own tail, burned into his flesh. Breathing heavily, he looked up at the sky and grinned. "I'm fulfilling my purpose, Father. Finally."
Another month later, Ryoshi stood before the pitch black walls of his new guild hall and laughed at the sky. The four-story building rose towards the sky, black as ebony. Carved into the doors was the mark of the guild, white as a bone. Each of the three upper levels was smaller than the one below it, and the roofs curved upward, making the whole building appear like a multi-leveled temple. Shoving the front doors open, Ryoshi strolled inside.
"Now, send to me the broken, the weak, the miserable. Those who thirst for righteousness, hunger for justice. I will make them whole, I will make them strong. I will make them soldiers in the fight for peace on earth. I will make them members of Draco Maledicte."

    Guild Name: Mummer's Troupe
    Alignment: Dark [Lawfully Evil]
    Location: Outskirts of Oak town
    Guild Color Code: #CC6600
    RP Sample:
    Spoiler:
The sound of a small child crying echoed throughout the decrepit streets of Oak town. The cries seemed to be ignored by the citizens as they each scurried to their homes before a summer storm found its way there; all the citizens but one. A lone man stood there at the corner of Market and 19th street of Oak town watching the people run their separate ways and listening to the sound of the child’s wail. After a few moments the figure started to move towards the alleyway that the cries seemed to be generating from, as he slipped into the dank alley he noticed a pungent odor that seemed to cause the hairs on the back of his neck to twist and coil inwards. It was an odor that the man had smelled many times before and had grown accustomed to throughout the ages, the odor was that of death. The man dragged his cloak through the muck that littered the alley’s ground and proceeded towards the crying child.

As the figured turned a corner he found the source of not only the crying but also the smell. There sitting in a pile of its own shit was a small girl, no more than seven years of age. The girl sat there clinging to a limp figured that one could guess was her mother. The mother’s skin was pale and hair looked as if it was black straw, the cloths of both the child and mother were covered in dirt and shit, full of holes, and looked as if the material was swallowing the two. After a moment of assessing the situation the figure lifted his cloak just a tad so the shit on the ground would not brush against it and proceeded towards the child and corpse of a mother. As his shadow loomed over the small girl her cries seemed to subside as she was in awe of this new figure standing before her.

Up close one could see the hard truth of the poverty that this young girl had gone through in the three short years of her life; her eyes were sunken in from malnutrition, her skin covered in shit and mud, teeth as yellow as corn, and hair that looked matted and tangled. With eyes the color of emeralds she peered into the darkness of the man’s cloak in an attempt to see the stranger’s face. With a weak voice that constantly was choked up the young girl spoke to the stranger before her. “Cccan you help my moommmy? S-she isn’t waking up anymore and I am so hungry.” The figure hunched down and offered out his hand. “Little girl your mommy has moved on to the next world, please take my hand we will get you washed up and some warm food in your tummy.”

With a trembling hand the girl took the figures. With a fluid motion the cloaked man pulled the girl from the muck and feces and away from the corpse. Instantly the girl pulled her body towards the man burying her face in his warm cloak. It was not long before the figure felt moister from the girl’s tears seeping through the material. He pattered her back and began to walk away from the alley back towards the street. The grumble of ominous thunder filled the air signaling to the man that their time was nearly up and he needed to get the girl to safety.  Causing magic to fill his body and the air around him the figure along with the girl seemed to disappear instantly from that god forsaken alley in that god forsaken town.

The sudden surge of high concentrated magic along with a poor diet seemed to cause the girl to faint in his arms. She would not be aware of the cavern that he took her to, nor would she see the different people that filled said cavern, thieves, murders, and other criminals. No by the time she would awake she would be resting in a nice plush bed settled on top of the cavern, next to a nice warm fire and a bowl of soup waiting for her. For you see the place that the girl would awake to would be that of Hamlet Falls Orphanage. A quaint little hamlet on the edge of Oak’s forest next to a rather large river and waterfall, it had been standing there for many generations before and would stand there for many generations to come. The cloaked figure would sit by the little girls bed awaiting for her to awaken.

As her eyes slowly opened the figure would stand from the chair he was sitting at and move towards the bed with fresh garments for the young girl to change into. “Where am I? And who are you? My head, it feels foggy as if somebody spun me around like a top.” A slight chuckle seemed to emerge from the darkness of the cloak. It seemed that the girl was feeling the effects of the figure’s magic. “Well I can answer any question you may have little one. You are in a small village outside of Oak known as Hamlet Falls, more importantly you are in the orphanage located in that village. I am Ethan Krow, the head of the orphanage and the one that brought you here. “ Ethan removed the cloak to revel his face to the child so that she could feel a sense of safety knowing who she was talking to.

“You see little one I brought you here after seeing that your mother was dead and the state you are in. I founded this orphanage many years ago for those that society had casted aside, much like yourself and your mother. Here I hope to create a new life for these children so that they can become accomplished members of society in their own regards. If you wish you may stay here with us and grow strong and learn how to read and write like many of the little lords and ladies of Fiore do. We will also teach you skills that those lords and ladies would never dream of knowing. If you do not wish for such a life you are free to leave whenever you chose but you must do so before the age of thirteen or you will enter a contract with this orphanage and be required to work here to repay your debt until the age of eighteen, at which point you are free once more to go out on your own or chose to stay here and continue to work.”

The green eyed girl sat there staring at Ethan for a moment, he was not aware if she would agree to stay or go about her own way, either way was no difference to Ethan. The fact that she fainted in the presence of his magic was proof that she lacked any magical talent so he would have little use for her later on, if anything it would be apity to lose a future cook or seamstress for the hamlet. The girl’s tiny fist clinched up as a tear rolled down her cheek, perhaps due to the sorrow of losing her mother or that she was being forced to make a major life choice at such a young age. “Thank you for saving me Mr. Krow, I believe that I would have died there in that alley with my mother if you had not come along. I am forever in your debt and would be honored to stay here if you allow me to.” A smile crossed Ethan’s face as he patted the girl’s head. “Of course you may stay. Now I shall give you time to rest.” And with that Ethan left the room and headed towards the entrance of the orphanage.

The summer rain seemed to bounce off the roof causing a peaceful melody to take over the old home. Ethan stood at the door looking outside with a small smile on his face. He looked over the small area that he had grown accustomed to for the past fifty or so years. It was untouched by time, untouched by the wars of the world, and pure like the children who filled its homes. While there was so much purity in the land Ethan’s mind could not help wander back towards the cavern below where the criminals laid. He had also called those caverns home and those that filled them family for the past eighty years. He had taken in many of them as children each with a scene that was similar to the young girl’s very own. Many of them were left on the roadside for dead at such a young age that they should not have seen the darkness that this world held. Ethan realized that all those years ago.

He made a vow back then that he would take these children and all those that sought shelter from the established monarchy and their laws. He would educate them, teach them how to be cunning, how to blend into society, how to survive, how to thrive. Ethan established very early on a code among these people. A code that all those that sought his protection and guidance would follow or death would be punishment. He sought a group of people that sought for a society that was without a single ruler or an oligarchy but organized chaos. A land where those that could survive would rule and those that could not fight would be protected by the strong. He did not care about the means which they achieved such a goal, be it stealing or killing. All that mattered was that in the end his family was left on top.

Ethan placed his hand on the doorknob but instead of turning it he would teleport back to that cavern below the cottage where his family lived. He would appear in the center of the mess hall where dozens of men and women sat around eating and drinking, discussing different tricks and trades. Once his presence was known the room fell silent. By using a slight bit of his magic to set ambiance Ethan’s presence quickly filled the room. “My brothers and sisters, today I have once again ventured out into the world of man and saw with my own two eyes the horrors that these people have caused. Many of you today saw the frail child carried by me to this home. This child was left on the streets like many of you, this child and her mother were forgotten by the people of the world, this child had her innocence ripped from her and thrown into the garbage like many of you. Why is it that the people of the world seem to pay no mind to rip out a child’s innocence? Why is it that these people care more about what is in their pockets than what fills the bellies of the hungry? Why is it that these lords and ladies care more about their blood ties and names then the people that they have built their empire on? It is time for the statues quo of this realm to be flipped. It is time for the people casted out to take charge! It is time that we show our true face to this world. No longer will we be an organization hired out by whomever pays the price, no longer will we sit back and watch these horrors, no more will we let the monarchy of the world tell us who gets the right to live and who gets the right to die! I call to you my family, will you stand behind me as I bring forth Mummer’s Troupe to the light! We will pave the streets with the blood of the nobles, taking their fortunes and giving it back to those that they took it from! We will overthrow the Magic Council and the guilds that back it, showing them that their ignorance is not always bliss! Who is with me?!”

Ethan stood for but a mere moment before the cheers of his brethren filled the cavern. It seems that they all heard his message and accepted it. With their backing and the network that Mummer’s Troupe had acquired for the past eighty years it was time for the world of Fiore to know their name. They were one entity hidden in the shadows. They would be the boogiemen that the lords and ladies would tell their children, they would be the saviors that the beggars had prayed for, they would be the blade that cut the fat belly of the government once and for all!
